Our events

Our first event this academic year was the MacMillan Coffee Afternoon and Cake Sale.

On the afternoon of Friday 26th September, we welcomed parents, carers, extended family and members of our local community into the academy to join us for a cuppa, cake and a chat. This was really well attended and it was great to have the hall full!

Following this, we held a cake sale. There were so many sweet treats to choose from! to link in with the International Day of Languages, the theme for the cake sale was ‘around the world’. Everyone was very creative with their efforts and the offereings certianly went down a treat!

An incredible afternoon for such an incredible cause.

Remembrance Day Report

Our school’s Remembrance Day service was a poignant and reflective event, demonstrating the deep respect and understanding our students have for this important occasion. Each class contributed thoughtfully to the service, showcasing their creativity and dedication.

Witham Class performed of a verbal poem. The students delivered the poem with heartfelt emotion, capturing the solemnity of the day and setting a respectful tone for the service.

Following this, Nene Class and Glen Class presented their beautifully crafted poppy wreaths. Each wreath represented the careful work and artistic talent of the students, symbolising the remembrance and honour of those who have served. These wreaths were displayed prominently, adding a visual tribute to the service.

Welland Class concluded the programme by sharing poems they had written in class. These original pieces reflected the students’ personal interpretations and understanding of Remembrance Day. Their performances were both thoughtful and engaging, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

To end the service, we listened to The Last Post and had a two minutes silence, where we all shared a moment to remember and reflect on these events.

Overall, the contributions of Witham, Glen, Nene, and Welland Classes made our Remembrance Day service a memorable event that honoured those who have served with dignity and respect.

Halloween Disco Report

On Friday 1st November, our school PTA kindly organised a Halloween Disco for all to enjoy. The children entered the hall, which had been decorated with spooky cobwebs, pumpkin banners and spiders. The PTA had organised Halloween themed music as well as some chart toppers. The children enjoyed a variety of delicious food, such as hotdogs, crisps and cupcakes. This all went down a treat! The PTA organised lots of games such as musical statues, musical bumps and everyone’s favourite ‘wrap the teacher as a mummy’, which involved wrapping toilet paper around their favourite staff members. We thank the PTA for organising such a lovely disco and look forward to any future events.
