Glen Class

Welcome to Glen Class

PE days for Autumn Term 2026 are:

Tuesday and Thursday with Forest school on a Friday.

We are a class of EYFS children. We are taught by Mrs Lenton

I love exploring the outdoors and staying active, and I believe that adventure can be found in both nature and books. Reading is one of my greatest joys, and sharing stories during assembly is a wonderful way to inspire imagination and creativity.

What we are learning about this Term?

Glen class Autumn Term 1   Can You Help?

We are delighted to welcome the children to Reception and look forward to an exciting first term exploring our topic, “Can You Help?” Throughout the term, the children will learn all about themselves, their families, friends and the people who help us every day. We will celebrate what makes each child and family unique through activities such as self-portraits, sharing special memories and developing positive friendships built on kindness and respect. As part of our learning, we will discover the important roles of people who help us at school and in the wider community, including doctors, dentists, paramedics, police officers and firefighters, and learn how emergency services keep us safe.

Our learning will also encourage children to think about their local community and the different jobs people do, while inspiring them to consider what they might like to be when they grow up. Alongside this, we will begin our phonics journey through stories, songs, rhymes and games, helping children develop their speaking, listening and early writing skills. In mathematics, we will focus on counting, recognising numbers, sorting, matching and comparing quantities, as well as exploring shapes, patterns and measures. Through science and outdoor learning, children will investigate plants and seasonal changes, plant seeds and observe how they grow, and enjoy Forest School activities that encourage curiosity and exploration. Throughout everything we do, we will place a strong emphasis on personal development, building confidence, understanding emotions, developing friendships and learning how to work together as valued members of our school community. We look forward to a wonderful term filled with learning, discovery and fun.
