Welcome to Glen Class
We are a class of EYFS children. We are taught by Mrs Lenton
I love exploring the outdoors and staying active, and I believe that adventure can be found in both nature and books. Reading is one of my greatest joys, and sharing stories during assembly is a wonderful way to inspire imagination and creativity.
What we are learning about this Term?

Summer Term 1 2026: Seasonal Changes
Over the coming term, Glen children will be taking part in an exciting learning journey as we explore farms, seasons and the world around us.We will begin by learning about farms, using the Tattershall Farm website to help us plan a trip. The children will think about what can be found on a farm, the animals that live there and the important jobs farmers do. This will encourage curiosity, discussion and early understanding of the wider world.
In Science, the children will explore sorting objects into living, dead and never alive, and begin learning about habitats. We will look at a range of habitats including deserts, oceans, rainforests and savannahs, discovering the plants and animals that live in each environment.
Our Geography and History learning will focus on the seasons, starting with Autumn moving into Winter. The children will learn how seasonal changes affect trees, animals and our local environment, and explore whether seasons look the same around the world. We will also discuss appropriate clothing for different types of weather.
As the year progresses into Spring and Summer, children will continue to explore seasonal changes and how they affect animals and plants. We will take part in planting activities, growing potatoes and beans, and observe how plants change over time.
The children will also be learning about the weather, including when the sun rises and sets, how weather differs around the world, and how scientists predict the weather using equipment. We will make simple predictions and take part in seasonal walks to observe how our environment changes compared to Winter.
This learning will support the children’s understanding of the world through hands‑on experiences, discussion and exploration.
