What we are learning about this Term?

Autumn  Term 1 2026- Wild Wood

A woodland habitat is home to many different plants and animals. This term our learning will link to the woods. In English, we will be reading “The Gruffalo” by Julia Donaldson and the traditional tale “Hansel and Gretel” to write character descriptions using adjectives and retelling the end of a story with a twist, as well as writing a recount of an exciting trip to the woods. In DT, we will be making use of our Forest School to create natural structures inspired by animal nests and dens, considering different ways of joining materials. During Geography, we will be exploring different maps of our school ground and local area considering how to create simple and clear map symbols.
