Music

Music at Holbeach Bank Academy

Music at Holbeach Bank Academy is designed to engage and inspire pupils. We embed Music within our curriculum to improve self-confidence, creativity and control.

Our Approach

  • Early Years: We start with short rhythmic patterns, chants and experimenting with instruments in early music making.
  • Key Stage 1 & 2: Pupils develop their music making skills through playing tuned and untuned instruments, collaboration in an ensemble and musical composition.
  • Provide opportunities for the children to present their performative skills, such as whole school events, extra-curricular performances and choir shows.

Vision in Action

At Holbeach Bank Academy, a good musician listens attentively to a wide range of music, understands and uses key musical elements, and performs with accurate pulse, pitch, and control. They sing and play instruments confidently, work well in ensembles, and respond to musical direction. They create and improvise simple musical ideas, use appropriate musical vocabulary and basic notation, and show creativity, focus, and enjoyment in all musical activities.
